The Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) presented GES, a full-service provider for live events, with the ESSA Member Company of the Year award at its annual ceremony.
The awards form part of the association’s annual Chairman’s Dinner held after the ESSA Conference, which sees over 200 event suppliers and service providers gather together to ‘effect change for the good of the industry’. The ESSA Member Company Award honours a member which has shown an ‘outstanding commitment to ESSA, its members and the industry as a whole’.
The GES submission focused on a number of recent triumphs for the company including its proactive steps to bring in ‘new blood’ by sponsoring the New Designers competition and awarding a talented design graduate a full-time job at GES, and the launch of its new stand build solution, Show Ready.
The entry also shared details of it securing the new international ISO 45001 accreditation for health and safety, a certification GES was one of the first in the events industry to achieve 18 months ahead of the deadline of March 2021.
Director at ESSA, Andrew Harrison, said: “Our awards are designed to recognise innovation and achievements within the events sector. It’s always a task for the judges but this year was particularly tough given the amount of outstanding entries and brilliant innovation that has come out of our industry in the last 12 months.”
Managing director for GES, Jason Stead, added: “Many of our core business values – honesty, passion, curiosity, service and team spirit – align perfectly with ESSA and its ongoing service to the exhibition and events industry.
